Joseph McGraw, Esq. studied at Pennsylvania’s University of Scranton and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science. He proceeded to take up law at the Widener University School of Law. Here, the American Bar Association National Criminal Trial Competition awarded Joseph as the Perfect Score Recipient, and was also given the Meritorious Achievement Award by the Trial Advocacy Honor Society.

Joseph’s career in law began at the Wayne County Court of Common Pleas where he interned under Honorable Judge Robert Conway. He then worked as a certified legal intern at the Dauphin County Public Defender’s Office in 2006, and was later promoted to assistant public defender.

A couple of years later, Joseph moved to the Lackawanna County Public Defender’s Office where he worked as a part-time assistant public defender. It was here he handled criminal cases up until the appellate court level.

In 2008, Joseph established a private practice that specialized in civil litigation and criminal defense. In 2010, however, he co-founded a Pennsylvania-based law firm named McGraw, Peterson and Nepa, which is now known as Nepa & McGraw, P.C.

Joseph, a third-generation criminal defense attorney, now focuses primarily on areas concerning Pennsylvania DUIs. He has a vast understanding of the state’s DUI laws and has extensive experience dealing with various DUI scenarios. Joseph is deeply committed to protecting the rights of his clients, and will work tirelessly to achieve the best possible outcome for them. He believes that by concentrating on one area of the law, he is better able to provide his clients with the quality legal representation that they need and deserve.

Currently, Joseph is a member of the Criminal Justice Act Panel for the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, and is affiliated with the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the National College of DUI Defense, and the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
